On Good Deeds Day 2026, millions of participants from 115 countries came together in the spirit of doing good. The key message of the day was “United in Good – 20 Years of Doing Good from the Heart.” It highlights that every person can do a good deed, large or small, with the goal of bringing about positive change.

Good Deeds Day was initiated in Israel by businesswoman, philanthropist, and founder of Goodnet Shari Arison, and has evolved into a global tradition connecting volunteers and organizations through acts of kindness. “Good Deeds Day, the annual peak event of year-round activities, has already become a 20-year tradition, bringing and connecting goodness around the world,” said Arison.

The event included hundreds of thousands of projects across the globe, including in Jamaica, Poland, the US, Zimbabwe, Portugal, the Dominican Republic, Togo, Croatia, India, the UK, Uruguay, Haiti, Tanzania, Germany, and more.

Creating Ripples of Positive Change in Miami and Beyond

In Miami, hundreds of people took part in preparing and distributing meals for the elderly and providing clothing donations, where activities were held in collaboration with the Jewish Federation.

“Seeing it globally has really touched my heart, and the fact that we have so many partners around the world that have connected and have taken it upon themselves – as if it’s their own is so amazing. Millions more are joining in around the world, and hopefully it will continue to grow more and more,” said Arison, who participated in the events.

Across the world, communities brought the spirit of Good Deeds Day to life through local initiatives, showing how a single day can create a meaningful impact.

A Global Movement Dedicated to Doing Good

As part of Good Deeds Day 2026, volunteers united to give back in inspiring ways worldwide. In Moldova, thousands of people across dozens of cities in the country took part in hundreds of projects. In all 28 regions of Malawi, individuals took part in activities such as visiting the elderly, with thousands volunteering.

In Kenya, the government recognized Good Deeds Day as an official day of service, with thousands participating in projects including environmental cleanups, education for women in business, and youth education on doing good. In Tanzania, communities also joined the movement through local volunteering initiatives, contributing to the day’s global spirit of doing good.

Elsewhere in Africa, participants were seen marking Good Deeds Day by hiking Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain on the continent.

Sparking Positive Change in Local Communities
While Good Deeds Day is a global event, its impact is felt at the community level. In Haiti, Good Deeds Day expanded to 13 cities, involving over 4,000 participants and impacting 13,000 community members. Projects focused on healthcare, supporting vulnerable people, and empowering women.

In Cambodia, thousands participated throughout the country, including students in seven provinces who took part in environmental initiatives such as cleanups and tree planting, showing the positive impact of younger generations.

Good Deeds Day festivities continued in Panama, which has celebrated the day of doing good for 12 years as a nationwide movement, bringing together NGOs, businesses, educational institutions, and government entities in a shared day of action.

Two decades after it started, Good Deeds Day shows how simple acts of kindness can change the world. Whether it's through helping people in need or protecting the planet, every action matters. Through giving back, everyone has the power to make a positive difference.
