In recent years, more people have been turning to holistic spiritual practices for healing. Whether it’s through energy-based approaches or meditation, there are more possibilities than ever before to slow down, find inner peace and balance, and connect with yourself.

One powerful energy-based practice is trance healing, a blog on Soulful & Wild explains. It involves entering a relaxed state and may support physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

What Is Trance Healing?
Trance healing is described as a practice where the healer enters an altered state, often called a trance state. In this state, the practitioner is believed to act as a channel for healing energy, which is directed toward the recipient.

It is considered part of a broader category known as energy healing. Everyday Health reports that the practice of energy healing has existed for centuries across cultures worldwide and has recently grown in popularity in the United States. It includes a wide variety of approaches that focus on supporting balance and overall well-being.

According to the National Cancer Institute, energy healing is a complementary approach based on the belief that the human body has vital energy flowing through it, and that supporting balance in this energy may promote well-being.

How Trance Healing Works
Before a trance healing session, the healer and the recipient prepare energetically and mentally, according to Soulful & Wild. The practitioner sets an intention for the work to be done. The healer then invites the recipient to enter a quieter, deeper state while entering a trance themselves.

The state can be induced through methods such as music with rhythms including drumming, or breathwork. Some healers may use light touch and allow energy to flow from their hands or through their presence to the recipient, though physical contact is not a requirement. In this altered state, the healer may become more focused and attuned during the process.

The Benefits of Trance Healing
It is believed that this method may help recipients feel calmer, less stressed, and release emotional tension. During sessions, recipients may experience warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of relaxation. It’s also possible to enter a light sleep-like state and wake up feeling restored.

While trance healing is not yet fully understood, its popularity reflects a wider interest in spiritual and energetic practices. For recipients, it’s a chance to slow down and support well-being in an intentional way.
